Exterior

Once the walls were up, the exterior was pretty simple -- I trimmed all the corners in 1x4 lumber, as well as both windows, to give it a finished look. Plastic garden lattice was cut to skirt the observatory and keep the larger animals out from underneath it (though I do see a lot of chipmunks running under there). A couple of short steps were added to get up to the floor of the observatory, and it was done!

The entire observatory was stained/watersealed with Olympic exterior sealant, and the trim was matched to the dark green of the roof panels. The overall effect was to look as much like a garden shed as possible, and it appears (to me at least) to have succeeded admirably.
